What I'm reading (Part 1) - Sphere by Michael Crichton.  I finished this book about a week and a half ago.  I'd never actually read any Crichton prior to this.  I've seen most of the movies - Jurassic Park, Timeline, personal favorite: Congo.  I saw Sphere in a used book store for a dollar and decided it was worth a punt.  Spoiler - it was great!  The ending still has me second guessing my initial interpretation.  10/10 recommend.

What I'm reading (Part 2) - Premier League Kits by The Athletic.  For anyone unaware, I'm a massive English Premier League and Manchester United fan.  The new season starts Friday (United play Sunday).  I'm always interested to see the new kits each team rolls out at the start of a new season.  Some of them are awesome (Fulham, Crystal Palace), some are complete rubbish (West Ham, Aston Villa).  Wolves' kit is always class.

What I'm reading (Part 3) - College Football Mailbag by The Athletic.  I'm also a big college football fan and it can't get here soon enough.  I'll save all of my detailed predictions for a later blog post but here's a teaser.  Alabama and UGA will play twice this year.  Once in the SEC Championship game.  Once in the natty.  Ohio State will probably be involved.  Clemson too.  Bold takes, I know.  In all seriousness, a deep-cut early prediction: Tennessee will win less than 8.5 games.  Shout out to my delusional friend Chris who somehow thinks UT wins 10 games this year.  Yes, the same UT that hasn't done anything remotely close to that since I aged out of the Jefferson County public school system.

What I'm watching - Seinfeld on Netflix.  My youngest daughter, Esther, and I have gotten into a routine as of late.  About 8:45pm or so, she'll get super hungry so I'll make her a bottle and feed it to her while watching an episode of Seinfeld.  Last night we watched the episode where Jerry talks Babu Bhatt into converting his Dream Cafe in a Pakistani Restaurant.  Simultaneously, George has Elaine take an IQ test for him.  Hysterical.

What I'm burning - GULF.  We're heading to Gulf Shores 2 weeks from today and I'm pumped to hit the beach.  We released Gulf last week and its the perfect candle to put you in a beach-y mood.  The sea salt and linen combine to create an incredible coastal fragrance.  If you can't make it to the beach, Gulf will figuratively put you sea-side. Head to the site to get yours today.  Or come to Woodlawn Street Market on August 13th to get one in person!

What I'm thinking about - running.  I've gotten back into a running routine over the last 4-6 weeks and I'm digging it again.  I don't particularly like running but I love the feeling of accomplishment that washes over me after finishing a run.  Its also a great mind-clearing exercise.  The first half mile or so is always, and I mean always brutal, but after that my mind sort of shuts off and I can go for many, many more miles. I've been trying to go early in the day to beat the heat but I low-key love the mid-day sweat.

As I mentioned above and in last week's newsletter, we'll be at Woodlawn Street Market next Saturday, August 13th from 5pm - 9pm so come see us!  We'll be slinging candles and I'll have some free samples for folks to enjoy!  It's a great event with a lot of outstanding vendors too so I'm certain it will be a good time.  Hope to see y'all there :)
